Many believers who feel they are in bondage or in need of deliverance may be suffering from the consequences of being separated from the Torah, YaHuWaH’s instructions for righteous living. Without the boundaries and guidance of the Torah, they are left vulnerable to the effects of sin and lawlessness, which often manifest as emotional, spiritual, or even physical distress.
In much of Christianity, the concept of “deliverance” has been framed around external spiritual forces, the belief that demons or evil spirits are to blame for struggles in people’s lives. This perspective has birthed countless ministries focused on casting out demons, yet the root cause of the problem often remains unaddressed.
Scripture shows that separation from YaHuWaH’s commands is what opens the door to destruction. Many believers are not under spiritual attack from external entities but are reaping the natural consequences of living in opposition to His ways.
My people have perished for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being priest for Me. Since you have forgotten the Torah of your Elohim, I also forget your children.” Hosea 4:6
The knowledge rejected was the Torah, the divine instructions that define how to walk in covenant with YaHuWaH. Without it, people stumble, leading to spiritual and physical affliction.
Torah: The Standard of Freedom
The Torah is often misunderstood as a burden, yet it is the foundation of freedom. When YaHuWaH gave His Torah to Yisra’El, it was after delivering them from bondage in Mitsrayim (Egypt). Freedom did not mean lawlessness; it meant living under the righteous reign of the Creator, with His Torah as the standard for life.
And you shall guard My laws and My right-rulings, which a man does and lives by them. I am YaHuWaH.” Leviticus 18:5
The Torah defines righteousness, exposes sin, and offers a path to restoration. Without it, believers drift into confusion and ultimately enslave themselves once again to sin. Yahusha confirmed the eternal nature of the Torah:
Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.” Matthew 5:17-18
Since the heavens and earth are still firmly in place, so is the Torah.
The Effects of Separation from Torah
When believers are not walking in the instruction of YaHuWaH, the consequences are often misinterpreted as spiritual attacks. However, these experiences are frequently the natural results of living in disobedience.
Broken Relationships: Ignoring principles of kindness, honesty, and accountability leads to relational destruction.
Financial Struggles: Violating commands regarding fair business practices, stewardship, and generosity brings financial hardship.
Health Issues: Disregarding dietary instructions or failing to rest on Shabbat may lead to physical sickness and burnout.
Spiritual Oppression: Continual rebellion against YaHuWaH’s ways opens the door to despair, anxiety, and confusion.
But your crookednesses have separated you from your Elohim. And your sins have hidden His face from you, from hearing.” Isaiah 59:2
This separation is not a punishment, but the natural outcome of rejecting His instruction. The Torah is a shield that guards those who walk in it, protecting from the destructive effects of sin.
True Deliverance Through Restoration
The true path to deliverance is not through hours of exorcisms or emotional experiences. It is through teshuva, genuine repentance, and a return to the covenant of YaHuWaH.
Come, and let us turn back to YaHuWaH. For He has torn but He does heal us, He has stricken but He binds us up.” Hosea 6:1
YaHuWaH has always called His people back to Himself through repentance and obedience. When believers abandon lawlessness and embrace the Torah, the oppression they face begins to lift. The renewing of the mind through His Word transforms lives, restoring peace, joy, and freedom.
So if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36
Yahusha sets us free by leading us back to the ancient paths, the righteous ways of YaHuWaH. He is the Living Torah, and following Him means walking as He walked, in perfect obedience.
Choosing Life
The choice has always been clear:
See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil, in that I am commanding you today to love YaHuWaH your Elohim, to walk in His ways, and to guard His commands, and His laws, and His right-rulings. And you shall live and increase, and YaHuWaH your Elohim shall bless you.” Deuteronomy 30:15-16
