To be a Hebrew is to have crossed over. This is not merely a national identity, but a prophetic and spiritual transformation. The Hebrew word for “Hebrew person” is Ibriy (עִבְרִי), which comes from the root word Eber (עֵבֶר), as recorded in Bereshith/Genesis 10:24–25. Eber means “to cross over”, to pass from one realm into another. A true Ibriy has crossed over from the defiled systems and traditions of the olam (world), from lies, idolatry, and religious confusion into the everlasting covenant of YaHuWaH.
Crossing over is a forsaking of everything that profanes the Name and character of our Creator. It is a rejection of man-made traditions, false doctrines, and the pagan titles such as God and Lord, which are rooted in Baal worship and which YaHuWaH never gave to Himself.
“For then will I return to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the Name of YaHuWaH, to serve Him with one consent.” – Tsephanyah/Zephaniah 3:9
This pure language, lashon kodesh, restores clarity and unity in calling on the true Name of our Creator. Those who have crossed over leave behind the names of false mighty ones and walk in the derekh (way) of set-apartness, calling upon the only Name given for salvation and covenant.
To cross over is to forsake the pagan traditions handed down by the nations, Christmas, Easter, Sunday worship, and to return to the true moedim (appointed times) and the seventh-day Shabbat, which are eternal signs of the covenant.
It is to enter into a restored relationship with the Most High, not as a religion, but as a nation set apart. It is to know Him by His true Covenant Name, YaHuWaH.
“Forasmuch as there is none like You, O YaHuWaH; You are great, and Your Name is great in might.” – Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 10:6
Yet despite this, His Name is despised, profaned, and forgotten among the nations.
“And My Name continually every day is despised and mocked.” – Yeshayahu/Isaiah 52:5
“Therefore My people shall know My Name.” – Yeshayahu/Isaiah 52:6
His Name has been replaced by generic and pagan titles, but YaHuWaH declares that His people shall know His Name. He is not “Lord” or “God”, these are replacements that conceal His true identity. He is YaHuWaH, our Elohim and our Husband.
“And it shall be in that day, says YaHuWaH, that you shall call Me Ishi, My Husband; and shall call Me no more Baali, My Lord.” – Hoshea/Hosea 2:16
“For I will take away the names of Baalim, Lords out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered.” – Hoshea/Hosea 2:17
These are not symbolic statements, they are literal prophecies. The time has come to cleanse our lips and hearts from the names of foreign deities and to walk in covenant purity.
“I have written to him the great things of My Torah, but they were counted as a strange thing.” – Hoshea/Hosea 8:12
Even the Torah itself has been rejected by many, counted as something foreign. But for those who cross over, the Torah is life, instruction, and the very essence of covenant obedience.
False prophets have contributed to this rebellion.
“I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in My Name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.” – Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 23:25
“How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart.” – Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 23:26
“Which think to cause My people to forget My Name by their dreams… as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal.” – Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 23:27
These words pierce. The lies of the prophets have caused entire generations to forget His Name, replacing it with Baal, the Lord. Today, many continue to walk in these inherited lies, but YaHuWaH is calling His remnant out.
“I will make Your Name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people hallel You le-olam-va-ed (forever).” – Tehillim/Psalms 45:17
“Your Name, O YaHuWaH, endures forever; and Your memorial, O YaHuWaH, throughout all generations.” – Tehillim/Psalms 135:13
His Name is not lost. It has been preserved for the remnant who will not bow to Babylon or the beast, but who will declare His greatness in the earth.
“For My Name shall be great among the nations, says YaHuWaH.” – Malaki/Malachi 1:11
“Then they that feared YaHuWaH spoke often one to another: and YaHuWaH listened, and heard it, and a sefer zikkaron – a Book of Remembrance – was written before Him for them that fear YaHuWaH and that thought upon His Name.” – Malaki/Malachi 3:16
His Name is a sign. A banner. A mark. Those who fear Him remember it. Those who have crossed over declare it. And those who are sealed will bear it.
“And I will set-apart My great Name, which was profaned among the gentiles… And the gentiles shall know that I am YaHuWaH, says the Master YaHuWaH, when I shall be set-apart by you before their eyes.” – Yehezqel/Ezekiel 36:23
“For I will take you from among the gentiles… and will bring you into your own land.” – Yehezqel/Ezekiel 36:24
“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you… From all your filthiness and from all your idols will I cleanse you.” – Yehezqel/Ezekiel 36:25
“A new heart will I give you, and a new Ruach will I put within you… and I will give you a heart of flesh.” – Yehezqel/Ezekiel 36:26
This is the inner transformation that accompanies the outward crossing over. A clean heart. A renewed spirit. A circumcision not made by hands. The covenant restored.
“YaHuWaH’s voice cries to the city, and the man of wisdom shall see Your Name.” – Mikah/Micah 6:9
“They shall see His face, and His Name shall be on their foreheads.” – Hazon/Revelation 22:4
Those who belong to Him will be marked, not by religious affiliation, but by the Name of the Father written upon them. This is the true seal of the redeemed.
“I have raised you up… in order to declare My Name in all the earth.” – Shemoth/Exodus 9:16
“This is My Name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.” – Shemoth/Exodus 3:15
“That men may know that You, whose Name alone is YaHuWaH, are the Most High over all the earth.” – Tehillim/Psalms 83:18
The Besorah is not just the message of salvation, it is the restoration of the Name, the identity, and the Kingship of YaHuWaH in the earth.
“And it shall come to pass, that whoever calls on the Name of YaHuWaH shall be delivered.” – Yoel/Joel 2:32
“For whoever shall call upon the Name of YaHuWaH shall be saved.” – Romiyim/Romans 10:13
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a proclaimer?” – Romiyim/Romans 10:14
“And how shall they proclaim, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that proclaim the Besorah of shalom, and bring glad tidings of good things!” – Romiyim/Romans 10:15
“But they have not all obeyed the Besorah. For Yeshayahu says, YaHuWaH, who has believed our report?” – Romiyim/Romans 10:16
The Besorah is not complete without the Name. Deliverance is not possible apart from the One who gives it. And belief cannot exist without knowledge of His true identity. We must proclaim not just a message, but the Name, the Torah, the Covenant, and the Way.
Have you crossed over?
