Woe to those who rise early in the morning pursuing strong drink,
who stay up late at night – wine inflames them!
And the lyre and the harp, the tambourine and flute, and wine are in their feasts;
but they do not regard the deeds of YaHuWaH, nor see the work of His hands.” – Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 5:11–12
In these days of great deception, we must be sober, not with physical restraint alone, but spiritually alert. This message is not about alcohol. It’s about false doctrine, perverted teachings, and the drunkenness of those who indulge in the lies of man rather than the truth of YaHuWaH.
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) speaks to a people who have lost all spiritual clarity. They are not weeping for righteousness. They are feasting on entertainment, filling themselves with music and wine, but failing to regard the works of YaHuWaH. Their priests and prophets are drunk, not with wine, but with corruption, doctrinal compromise, and vain philosophies.
Therefore My people have gone into exile, because they have no knowledge.
And their esteemed men are starved, and their crowd dried up with thirst.” – Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 5:13
This is the condition of many today: exiled from truth, lacking the knowledge of Torah, hungry for meaning, and dry from the absence of living water. False teachings bring confusion, mixture, pride, and ultimately, exile. Those who mock the ways of YaHuWaH, saying, “Let Him hurry! Let Him hasten His work, so that we see it!” are speaking in arrogance and unbelief.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” – Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 5:20
This is the very definition of apostasy. When light is called darkness and evil paraded as good, confusion rules. Those who feed on these teachings are drunk with spiritual deception. The world applauds them. Religion embraces them. But the judgment of YaHuWaH awaits all who distort His Word.
So then do not be foolish, but understand what the desire of YaHuWaH is.
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is loose behaviour,
but be filled with the Spirit,
speaking to each other in psalms and songs of praise and spiritual songs,
singing and striking the strings in your heart to the Master…”Eph’siyim (Ephesians) 5:17–19
The contrast is clear: be filled with the Ruach (Spirit), not with the intoxicating doctrines of man. The teachings of Yahusha are pure, and those who drink from His cup will walk in set-apartness, clarity, and understanding.
This is the narrow path.
The remnant is being called out from Babylon. We are told to come out of her, out of her lies, her twisted interpretations, her false prophets, her intoxicating blend of Torahlessness and tradition.
Do not drink the wine of confusion.
Do not feast at the table of entertainment and doctrine without discernment.
Be filled with the Ruach of Truth.
False teachings intoxicate the soul and blind the eyes. If you’re consuming a message that excuses sin, downplays the Torah, or redefines righteousness, it’s spiritual strong drink. Be sober. Be vigilant. The days are evil.
