Many have been trained to believe that the ultimate reward is to “make it into heaven.” But that’s not what the prophets proclaimed. That’s not what Yahusha taught. That’s not the promise to the seed of Abraham. Our hope is not in escaping the earth but in the restoration of the Kingdom of YaHuWaH on the earth, with Yahusha reigning as King over a united Yisra’El.
The Focus Was Never “Heaven”
Nowhere in Scripture does it say the righteous will spend eternity in heaven. Instead, it consistently speaks of:
The return of the King to reign on earth (Zeḵaryah (Zechariah) 14:9)
The regathering of the whole house of Yisra’El (Yeḥezqĕl (Ezekiel) 37:21–28)
The meek inheriting the earth (Tehillim (Psalms) 37:11; Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:5)
The Promise Was Always The Kingdom
And in the days of these sovereigns the Eloah of the heavens shall set up a reign [kingdom] which shall never be destroyed…” – Dani’ĕl (Daniel) 2:44
And let Your reign come. Let Your desire be done on earth as it is in heaven.” – Mattithyahu (Matthew) 6:10
Yahusha taught His followers to pray for the Kingdom to come, not for us to go to heaven. The Kingdom is coming to the earth, and Yahusha is coming to reign in Yerushalayim.
The Good News (Besorah) Is The Kingdom
The message Yahusha and the disciples preached was the Besorah (Good News) of the Kingdom:
And Yahusha was going about all Galil, teaching in their congregations, and proclaiming the Good News of the reign…” – Mattithyahu (Matthew) 4:23
What Is The Kingdom?
The Kingdom is the restored rule of YaHuWaH on earth through His anointed King, Yahusha. It includes:
The reunification of the two houses: Yahuḏah and Ephrayim (Yeḥezqĕl (Ezekiel) 37)
The Torah going forth from Tsiyon (Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 2:2–3)
Righteousness and justice restored (Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 11:4–5)
The nations coming to learn His ways (Zeḵaryah (Zechariah) 8:23)
The Church Teaches Heaven – The Scriptures Declare The Kingdom
The modern Christian gospel tells people to “go to heaven when they die,” but this is not the Scriptural hope. That idea comes more from Greek philosophy than from the Torah and the prophets. In contrast, the Hebrew expectation has always been resurrection from the dead and inheritance in the Kingdom:
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth wake up, some to everlasting life, and some to reproaches, everlasting abhorrence.” – Dani’ĕl (Daniel) 12:2
Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the reign of Elohim?” – Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 6:9
Resurrection + Inheritance = Entrance into the Kingdom
The goal is not to escape the earth, but to be counted worthy to reign with Messiah in His Kingdom.
Blessed and set-apart is the one having part in the first resurrection. The second death possesses no authority over them, but they shall be priests of Elohim and of Messiah, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” – Ḥazon (Revelation) 20:6
We are not seeking to make it into “heaven.” We are seeking to inherit the Kingdom of YaHuWaH, where Yahusha reigns in righteousness, Torah goes forth from Tsiyon, and the whole House of Yisra’El is gathered.
Let the world long for heaven.
We long for the restoration of the Kingdom on earth.
